We are seeking a PART TIME BENCH JEWELER to join our Fine Jewelry & Watch team located at our headquarters in CARLSBAD, CA! The role of a Bench Jeweler is to support our jewelry repair needs. The Bench Jeweler is primarily responsible for setting, repairing, cleaning, and maintaining merchandise consistent with Company quality standards and service.

***Hours for this position are Tuesday – Friday, 4pm – 9pm and Saturdays 8am – 4:30pm***

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

•Meet or exceed quarterly productivity goals
•Evaluate overall condition of pieces
•Repair and/or restore old or damaged product
•Repair existing jewelry mountings to reposition stones
•Brush, buff, clean and polish metal items and jewelry pieces, using jeweler’s tools, polishing wheel, and chemical bath
•Weigh completed pieces to determine deviation from specifications and trending weights, as needed
•Maintain an up to date list of shop supply inventory, ie diamond melee and batteries
•Inform Jewelry Manager when supplies and tools are low or need to be ordered
•Assist other departments when workflow is slow or help is needed

EXPECTATIONS:

•Attend all applicable Fashionphile University training courses and remain up to date with new industry advancements
•Attend all department meetings
•Maintain equipment & tools in good working order
•Maintain a clean working environment, free of dust and debris
•Maintain understanding of the functionality of other departments including Client Services, Inventory, Check-In and Shipping
•Maintain proficiency in Fashionphile Admin website
•Respond to any task, tags, emails or Slack messages in a timely manner (one business day)
•Work professionally within a team as well as independently
•Effectively manage time and operate with efficiency and accuracy

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

•Minimum two years experience
•Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
•Excellent time management & organizational skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication, including full proficiency in grammar and spelling
•Proficiency in use of Gemological equipment
