Watchmaker / Technical Trainer Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire
Competitive package A newly created watchmaking and trainer role has been
announced as part of Xupes continued expansion of their watchmaking
department. The role will focus on creating technical training programs for
watchmaker and wider commercial multi-brand watch training programmes
throughout the business to ensure the whole organisation shares their
expertise and passion with our expanding international customer base.

As part of the role you will help manage and coach our junior watchmakers and
technicians. Xupes is a rapidly expanding international business,
specialising in pre-owned luxury watches. Xupes also has an ever-growing
offering of luxury handbags, jewellery and antiques.

The workshop currently holds accreditations for Cartier and Omega, with some exciting plans for
the future.

The watch service department will echo the Xupes principles and
our exacting standards, working to offer services to customers and the
trade, matching the quality and standards of the manufacturers.

The long-term view will be to establish the company as an authorised service
centre for chosen brands and grow to become a leader within this industry
in the UK. You will be working in a fast-paced, high growth environment and
when required be able to cope with last-minute servicing needs and special
requests. Responsibilities: * Full involvement in all workshop processes *
Full involvement in designing and building our new workshop in Bishop’s
Stortford * Implementing training programmes in line with the
growth/expansion of the company * Responsible for the maintenance of the
equipment in the workshop. * Responsible for the presentation and
cleanliness of the workshop. * Servicing of all types of high-end watches
including chronographs and small complications. * Ensuring quality of the
repairs are in line with the accredited brands * Assisting from time to
time in polishing of watches. * Tools/parts supply and control for the
brands we work on. * Occasional interaction with clients and presentation
at events held by Xupes. * Analysing watches for servicing cost with
purchasing department when required. * Working closely with workshop
manager with monthly reviews and KPIs. Desired Skills and Experience: *
Experience with training * Existing accreditations * 3 years + watchmaking
experience * Good organisational skills. * Good communication skills. *
Working well as part of a team. * A self-starter, able to work
independently. * Previous watchmaking and/or polishing experience with the
brands Xupes offers for sale. * Experience working on both quartz,
automatic, chronograph movements and small complications movements.
