This position is for one-on-one Customer Counter Assistance to change watch batteries, watch wristband adjustment/replacement and evaluation for possible further Watchmaker assistance on the spot, among other things. Customer assistance will also include writing repair tickets for Quartz/Battery operated clock repair. Verbal and written Communication and Listening skills are essential. Neat and legible handwriting and concise vocabulary is a requirement. Other duties will include such tasks as alphabetizing,putting tickets in numerical order and inventorying daily work items periodically and other tasks as needed. Willingness to learn and to follow instructions are key. Qualifying prior direct and associated experience could include watch technician, apprentice jeweler,circuit board/micro electronics builder, dental lab tech, model builders and similar close-work skills developed professionally or as a hobbyist. Close vision work, hand/eye coordination and steady hands are absolutely necessary. Special magnifiers can be helpful and are available.

The Position may also expand into repairing/replacing Battery Operated Quartz Clock Movements and, for those inclined, learning about modern & antique clock repair and maintenance. This is a Great Opportunity for someone to develop and expand current watch & clock skills…or to start them! For those inclined and genuinely interested, expert training in these skill areas would be available. What is required is a willingness to pay attention and learn. Hours are PT/FT with lots of flexibility around whatever else you may have going on in your life. Depending on associated experience and demonstrated adeptness, we are offering $11-$15/Hr with a great possibility of quick advancement. There is a probationary period of 2-3 Months and lots of support to get you going!
