Four years since Swatch Group made one of its biggest innovations, the watch movement entirely produced on an automated assembly process, available to the public, it hasn’t received the stellar recognition it deserves. Yet, this hasn’t deterred Tissot taking an aim at budget watch segment. Tissot’s Everytime Swissmatic is $395 budget wristwatch that comes off an entirely automated assembly line. The watch is available for $155 cheaper than Tissot’s next budget offering while offering a 70 hours of power reserve and +/- 10 seconds a day accuracy.
The watch is designed to look minimalistic and would go well on casuals and formals and could be worn by both men and women. The back case is transparent offering a view of the movement the watch’s mechanics. It’s also removable, unlike Swatch’s Sistem51, making it serviceable. The watch is aimed at new and reluctant watch enthusiasts who are afraid to make a leap on to the mechanical watchmaking train. And for those making that leap, this watch has a lot to offer for the price.
