Albert’s Diamond Jewelers is a treasured Chicagoland jewelry shopping destination, located in Northwest Indiana. We are seeking an experienced Jeweler to join our team and help us create masterful one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry! We are looking for candidates with knowledge of sizing, stone settings, and jewelry repair.
Responsibilities:
• Build and repair through various techniques.
• Set precious & rare gemstones in various setting styles and stones.
• Build Chain and clasp repair.
• Re-tipping for prongs.
• Rhodium plate white metals
• Performing channel and platinum rebuilds.
• Sizing adjustments
• Assist or advise co-workers in explaining, pricing, or selling jewelry repairs to provide exceptional customer service.
• Strive for maximum quality of work and profitability on custom or repair work.
• Ensures Albert’s Diamond Jewelers stock and findings remain secure at all times and are accessed only when needed.
• Ensures that all jewelry including Albert’s inventory items and customer jewelry is secure while away from bench and upon store closing.
• Analyzes workload at the beginning of each day and prioritizes tasks according to promise dates.
• Shares in the maintenance of the shop including organized work areas, bench and tools arranged properly, etc.
• Actively participates in shop meetings and participates in skill development opportunities.
• Demonstrates a dept of technical knowledge as it relates to diamonds or colored gems, timepieces, and various precious metals.
• Accurately follows pricing guidelines for jewelry.
• Works in compliance with safety procedures set forth by OSHA and Albert’s Diamond Jewelers.
• Maintains equipment and clean workspace.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a bench jeweler
• Understanding and ability to rebuild and repair a wide variety of jewelry
• Ability to work with a wide variety of materials including gold, platinum and gemstones
• Proficient in a variety jewelry making techniques
• Attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
