Bench Jeweler

Duluth GA

$20 – $25 per hour depending on experience

Blue Harlan is the onsite recruiting partner for this amazing jewelry business in Duluth GA. We are seeking a customer service minded individual who takes pride in their work and makes sure that all jewelry shop quality standards have been met to produce the finest piece possible for our clients. This is a full-time position requiring experience in repairing, stone setting, sizing, assembling, and cleaning casting. Applicant must be proficient working with gold, platinum, and silver as well as all as all types of color gemstones and diamonds. The applicant must also be meticulous.

Bench Jeweler

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair, size, polish, fix and set stones on pieces of jewelry
  • Perform quality control inspections after the work is complete to ensure standards have been met
  • Assist in maintaining and cleaning the jewelry bench and all shop equipment monthly or as needed
  • Assist the Inventory and Customer Service departments as needed
  • Must follow all safety protocols established by company and OSHA
  • Assist the Jewelry Shop Manager with other duties as needed and assigned

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience at the jewelry bench desired
  • Proficient at polishing, both by hand and using the polishing machines
  • Working knowledge of diamonds and colored gemstones as it relates to jewelry shop work
  • This includes knowing what stones can and cannot take heat, the amount of pressure a stone may take, temperature changes and more
  • Working knowledge of precious metals as it relates to jewelry shop work
  • Proficient in sizing diamond and gemstone rings both up and down
  • Know how to mount and unmount diamonds and gemstones
  • Know how to do basic jewelry repair work, such as re-tipping prongs, chain soldering, etc.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • High integrity

Pay: $21.19 – $25.52 per hour
