Role Overview

Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, the Watchmaker Level 1 is responsible to perform movement repairs on mechanical watches with adjustments (in house calibers).

The position requires a high level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts and provide a best-in class quality.

A watchmaker level 1 can be assigned to the following departments based on technical abilities: Workshop, Diagnosis, Dismantling, Case preparation, Polishing.

Responsibilities

  • Movement repair:
    • Identify and fix issues in a mechanical movement in order to bring it back in the brands specifications.
    • Scope of movements = everything identified as Lev 1 at the RTC and on which person is trained.
    • Brand can depend based on the allocated team and the needs of flexing.
  • Encasing:
    • Encase the movement inside the case and perform aesthetical and functional controls prior sending it to the Quality Control Department.
  • Maintenance and Organization of the Working environment:
    • Follow RNA and Brands’ specifications:
      • Tools
      • Technical procedure
      • Work assignments
      • Standards of Quality & Standard Time of Operations (STOs)
    • Maintain Tools and Equipment
      • Ensure that all equipment used are calibrated and maintained at a high standard
    • Proper layout and accessibility of all tools and equipment
    • Maintain a cleaned, organized and safe working area

Qualifications

  • Watchmaking Degree.
  • Working experience with luxury brands is a plus.
  • High level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and efficiently provide a high level of quality.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Computer skills are necessary.
