Role Description
The Master Watchmaker is a full-time, on-site role based in Huntington, NY, responsible for the expert repair, servicing, and restoration of high-end watches. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and quartz watch issues, disassembling and assembling movements, performing cleanings and overhauls, and regulating timepieces to manufacturer standards. The Master Watchmaker will use advanced Swiss-manufactured equipment, maintain detailed service records, and collaborate with sales and customer service teams to provide accurate repair estimates and timelines. Responsibilities also include conducting quality control checks, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all work, advising on complex complications and rare timepieces, and helping maintain a well-organized, safe, and efficient workshop environment.
Qualifications
•Expertise in watch repair and restoration, including mechanical, automatic, and quartz watches.
•Experience working with high-end watches and clocks, including complex complications.
•Strong focus on quality control and a consistently high level of accuracy in all technical work.
•Formal watchmaking training or certification (e.g., WOSTEP, SAWTA, AWCI, or equivalent) preferred.
•Proficiency using Swiss-manufactured watchmaking tools and equipment.
•Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manufacturer service documentation.
•Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
•Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with sales and service teams.
•Previous experience in a luxury retail or boutique watch environment is a plus.
