Experienced Watchmaker
Position: [Full-Time / Part-Time]
Compensation: Competitive and based on experience
My Watch Dude is looking for an experienced, dependable watchmaker to join our team. We are a locally owned jewelry and watch business known for skilled craftsmanship, honest service, and personal attention.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience servicing and repairing a variety of watches. Jewelry or bench-jeweler experience is highly desirable and may create additional opportunities within the position.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and quartz watch issues
- Perform movement services, repairs, and replacements
- Replace batteries, crystals, crowns, stems, gaskets, and watch bands
- Size bracelets and repair clasps
- Perform water-resistance and pressure testing
- Clean and refinish watch cases and bracelets
- Provide accurate repair estimates and document completed work
- Maintain an organized, clean, and secure work area
- Communicate clearly with our team regarding repairs, parts, and timelines
- Handle every customer’s watch and jewelry with exceptional care
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional watchmaking or watch-repair experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, automatic, and quartz movements
- Experience with luxury watches is a plus
- Jewelry repair, stone setting, soldering, polishing, or laser-welding experience is highly valuable
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team
- Honest, dependable, organized, and committed to quality workmanship
- Watchmaking certifications are welcomed but not required if you have strong hands-on experience
