Master Watchmaker – Luxury Timepieces

David & Sons Timepieces is seeking an experienced Master Watchmaker to join our team. We are looking for a highly skilled professional with extensive experience servicing, repairing, and restoring luxury Swiss timepieces, including watches from Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Richard Mille, and other high-end manufacturers.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on watchmaking experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently diagnose and service both modern and vintage luxury timepieces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete mechanical movement overhauls, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, lubrication, assembly, adjustment, and testing
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs
  • Perform general watch servicing and maintenance
  • Regulate and time mechanical movements to achieve optimal accuracy and performance
  • Perform escapement and hairspring adjustments
  • Conduct water-resistance, pressure, and performance testing
  • Service both automatic and manual-wind mechanical movements
  • Work with modern and vintage luxury watches
  • Service chronographs, calendar movements, and other complications
  • Perform general overhauls and complete watch services
  • Perform case and bracelet refinishing and polishing
  • Perform or assist with laser repair/restoration work when required
  • Identify worn or damaged components and determine appropriate repair or replacement
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and quality control throughout the repair process
  • Properly document service work and repairs

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional watchmaking experience required
  • 8–10+ years of professional experience preferred
  • Extensive experience servicing high-end Swiss mechanical watches
  • Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose, overhaul, repair, regulate, and test mechanical movements
  • Experience servicing Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe timepieces strongly preferred
  • Experience with other high-end manufacturers such as Vacheron Constantin, Richard Mille, and comparable brands is highly valued
  • Experience with both vintage and modern movements
  • Experience servicing automatic and manual-wind movements
  • Experience with chronographs and calendar complications
  • High-complication experience is a major plus
  • Case and bracelet polishing/refinishing experience preferred
  • Laser repair/restoration experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional workmanship
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent quality standards

Preferred Certifications & Training

Formal watchmaking education, manufacturer training, and professional certifications are strongly preferred. Relevant credentials include:

  • WOSTEP – Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Program
  • SAWTA – Swiss American Watchmakers Training Alliance
  • AWCI CW21 – Certified Watchmaker of the 21st Century
  • AWCI CMW21 – Certified Master Watchmaker of the 21st Century
  • Rolex certification or Rolex factory training
  • Manufacturer training or certification from Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richemont, Omega/Swatch Group, or another recognized luxury watch manufacturer
  • Equivalent formal watchmaking education, apprenticeship, or manufacturer training will also be considered

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced watchmaker who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and is comfortable working on valuable and technically sophisticated timepieces. We are looking for someone capable of handling a watch through the full service process—from initial diagnosis and movement overhaul through regulation, testing, refinishing, and final quality control.

Candidates with extensive experience working on Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and other haute horlogerie timepieces are strongly encouraged to apply.
