Bench Jeweler / Stone Setter — Fine Jewelry
About us
We’re a growing fine jewelry company specializing in lab-grown diamonds set in 14k gold. Our team is small and focused on quality, and every piece gets inspected before it ships. We’re looking for a skilled bench jeweler to help us build beautiful, consistent work at volume.
What you’ll do
- Set center stones and accent stones in bezel, basket, and martini settings in 14k yellow, white, and rose gold
- Assemble, solder, and laser weld components such as heads, shanks, and findings
- Clean up castings, then pre-polish and polish to a high finish
- Size rings, re-tip prongs, and handle repairs and adjustments
- Check stone fit, prong security, symmetry, and finish against design specs before sign-off
- Work from CAD renders and specs, using calipers, gauges, and a loupe or microscope for precise measurements
- Keep your bench organized and follow safety procedures for torches, chemicals, and polishing equipment
- Work with the production lead to meet daily output goals without cutting corners
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of bench experience in fine jewelry manufacturing or a trade shop
- Strong stone-setting skills, especially with diamonds (prong, bezel, and basket settings)
- Experience with laser welding and torch soldering in gold
- Steady hands, sharp eyesight, and real pride in clean, consistent work
- Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
- Familiarity with CAD/casting workflows is a plus
- Experience with high-volume production is a plus
- A portfolio or photos of your work, which we’ll ask for with your application
Details
- Full-time, on-site in Oak Park, MI.
- Pay: $35-$40/hour, based on experience and setting speed and quality
- Schedule: Monday–Friday 9–5
