About the Role

This role is a maternity cover position, supporting our workshop while a key team member is on leave. You’ll be joining a close-knit, supportive studio environment, with a thorough handover and a clear scope of responsibility, and will be an integral part of the team throughout the cover period.

This is a hands-on role working across engagement rings, wedding rings, bespoke jewellery and small-batch collections, within a collaborative, female-led studio.

Jewelry Repair Job

Key Responsibilities

Bench work & production

• Ring resizes across gold, platinum and stone-set jewellery (primarily sapphires and diamonds), including the use of a laser welding machine

• Making wedding rings to order, including applying a range of finishes

• Engagement ring cast clean-up and occasional assembly

• Creating off-the-shelf engagement rings when required

Bespoke & specialist techniques

• Wax carving for bespoke jewellery

• Sand casting using a furnace

• Heirloom gold work and reworking existing jewellery

• Stone setting, particularly claw setting (round and talon styles), flush setting and tube/bezel setting

Design & development

• Creating new jewellery designs following briefs for upcoming collections

• Contributing design ideas to improve longevity and wearability (e.g. claw placement, stone security, wear considerations)

Workshop support & collaboration

• Working closely with the Bespoke Jewellery Operations Manager to ensure deadlines are met

• Ordering materials and maintaining workshop stock levels

• Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient working

• Supporting the workshop team with web orders during busy periods

• Preparing wax ring blanks for ring-making workshops and occasionally assisting with or running workshops at weekends

• Assisting with behind-the-scenes making content for social media

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional jewellery making experience

• Strong experience working on high-value jewellery, particularly engagement rings

• Confident stone setter, with a focus on claw, flush and bezel settings

• Wax carving experience preferred

• Experience using a Dado laser welding machine for resizes and retipping

• Highly organized, reliable and comfortable working to deadlines

• A collaborative team player with a thoughtful, detail-led approach to craftsmanship
