Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Watchmaker responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining watches. The position requires a high level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts and provide best-in-class quality. The individual must perform tasks within accepted industry standard procedures for watch repairs and collaborate with watchmakers at our Houston location and watch brands.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis:
- Describe the condition of the piece to be evaluated.
- Identify root causes of problems in accordance with client requests.
- Select adequate services following the brand’s policy.
- Propose solutions and identify necessary spare parts.
- Issue internal quotations for repairs as per the brand’s price list.
- Dismantling and Assembly:
- Dismantle timepieces, separating movement/dial/hands from case components.
- Insert all dismantled parts into repair boxes, plastic bags, or containers.
- Dismantle the case into its components and assign them to containers.
- Prepare and assemble case components ready for encasing the movement.
- Case Preparation:
- Check the case and components for cleanliness and functionality.
- Install and assemble the case and components for encasing the movement.
- Ensure the waterproofness of the case.
- Movement:
- Analyze and decide on the proper methodology to repair the movement.
- Use or develop adequate tools or processes to correct issues during repair.
- Resolve issues related to limited or no access to spare parts by fixing existing components.
- Clean the movement and all parts.
- Assemble the movement, control all tolerances for accuracy, and lubricate according to brand-specific documentation.
- Execute final control and adjustments as per brand specifications.
- Encasing:
- Install the dial and hands before encasing the movement and closing the watch.
- Ensure and adjust the time display and date-changing event within allowed tolerances.
- Perform a first Quality Control to ensure the piece is in working order.
- Transfer the completed piece to Quality Control.
- Maintenance and Organization:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Document and update each repair step in our web project management platform.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are calibrated and maintained to high standards.
- Properly layout and ensure the accessibility of all tools and equipment.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with watchmakers at our Houston location.
- Maintain communication with various watch brands for support and guidance.
Qualifications:
- High level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts with strong attention to detail.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in watchmaking preferred.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Computer literacy to access brand intranet portals and our internal systems.
- Team management skills and experience.
- Team training and mentoring experience.
- Experience in leading a team to achieve set objectives.
Requirements:
- Experienced watchmaker.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent; watchmaking diploma preferred.
- Experience working with luxury brands is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
