POSITION SUMMARY
A well-established and rapidly growing fine jewelry destination is seeking an experienced Bench Jeweler to join its in-house workshop. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and highly skilled craftsperson with advanced experience in stone setting, jewelry repair, and polishing. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship, enjoys working in a collaborative and modern environment, and is energized by contributing to a high-performing retail team.
This individual will support day-to-day jewelry service needs, collaborate with a Master Goldsmith, and help maintain the company’s reputation for quality, trust, and five-star client satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Jewelry Repair & Craftsmanship
- Execute high-quality repair work including resizing, soldering, stone tightening, prong re-tipping, and polishing
- Perform setting of diamonds and colored stones across various styles and mountings
- Inspect and assess jewelry pieces to recommend proper repair and restoration techniques
- Maintain and operate jeweler’s tools, machinery, and safety protocols with precision and care
- Ensure all service orders are completed accurately, on time, and to brand standards
Workshop Operations & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with the sales team and Master Goldsmith to support custom projects and repair timelines
- Help uphold a clean, safe, and organized bench and workshop environment
- Contribute to overall service excellence and uphold company values of quality, trust, and craftsmanship
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 5 years of professional bench jeweler experience required
- Proficient in stone setting, soldering, polishing, and complex repair work
- Advanced understanding of jeweler’s tools, machinery, and workshop best practices
- Excellent attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination
- Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Positive, solution-oriented mindset with pride in craftsmanship

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Formal training from a recognized jewelry program preferred
- 5+ years in a professional bench jeweler role, ideally in a fine jewelry retail setting
- Experience working with gold, platinum, and a range of gemstones
WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT
Location: On-site in Michigan
Schedule:
- Monday & Thursday: 9 AM – 8 PM
- Tuesday & Friday: 9 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 4 PM
- Closed Wednesdays and Sundays
- Bonus: One late start (1 hour) per week offered to full-time employees
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Competitive salary range: $60,000-80,000
