Jewelry Repairs

The gem setter places precious stones to enhance their appearance, on metals such as brass, silver, gold and platinum.

For 4 years, he was trained to set stones on jewelry (brooches, rings, necklaces, pendants…) and on watches (cases, backs, bezels, dials, bracelets…).

Our training is provided in-house by our experienced trainer, in conjunction with the CPNE school – Applied Arts Center of La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Responsibilities

  • Learning to choose and use tools: drilling, milling, working with various chisels (gravels, miters, flat chisels), filing, chiseling.
  • Learning the different manual crimping techniques: grain crimping, prong crimping, closed and massed crimping, rod crimping.
