About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Part-Time Bench Jeweler with strong production bench experience to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident at the bench, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable working across a range of jewelry-making techniques. You will play an integral role in supporting our production workflow and upholding the craftsmanship behind every Lulu Designs piece.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform production bench work including soldering, sawing, filing, stone setting, polishing, and finishing.
- Execute advanced bench techniques such as bezel, prong, and flush setting; hammering; metal forming; PUK welding; and work using the hydraulic press.
- Assist with the production of existing designs, with occasional involvement in prototype development.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and within established timelines to support overall production flow.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the Production Manager, fellow jewelers, and management to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot technical challenges and maintain production standards.
- Inspect work throughout fabrication to ensure quality, structural integrity, and design consistency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bench and shared studio environment.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of bench jewelry experience preferred, ideally in fine jewelry or a comparable jewelry production studio.
- Strong production bench skills and hands-on experience with a wide range of tools and techniques.
- Proficiency in bezel and flush setting, hammering, forming, PUK welding, and use of a hydraulic press.
- Solid understanding of tool operation, maintenance, and safe studio practices.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a production-focused environment.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with teammates and management.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to consistent quality and craftsmanship.
