The Gem Collection Fine Jewelers – Tallahassee, FL
Forty-eight years in business, our Jewelry company is a member of the American Gem Society, IJO and CBG and in an amazing free-standing store in the beautiful North Florida Panhandle (where the winters are so nice) seeks an experienced Bench Jeweler and experienced stone setter for our Fine Jewelry Store.
Personal Requirements: If you are creative, talented and motivated to produce quality services and products for our customers, we have the position for you.
Skill Requirements: You would need to be able to evaluate the work needed on jewelry items and be able to perform the required repairs. You should have ability to set precious stones and diamonds of all shapes and sizes. Be able to half/full shank, size rings, retip prongs and solder heads in rings as well as do simple fabrication. Also be able to repair bracelet hinges and links, and work with platinum. Laser Welding experience is helpful as we have two Laser Welders.
Must have a desire to learn and grow with this position and be aware of quality control. You would work with our graduate gemologist and assist in getting the work out in a timely manner. Having excellent organizational skills greatly helps with this position.
Position Requirements: High School diploma/GED required, 2 years of technical training in jewelry programs or 2or more years of jewelry repair experience is preferred. You must complete a bench test for assessment purposes.
Candidates must be able to work a 38-42 hour work week Tuesday through Saturdays. Compensation is between $55,000 to $75,000 will depend on your skill and experience. Benefits are Employer pays 50% of your Health Insurance with Bonuses during good months and good quality work. Personal Time Off and Holiday Time Off are included.
