Responsibilities

The Service Center at the New York Flagship store has an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a temporary on-call Level II Jeweler. This position will provide superior customer service to our clientele with an emphasis on repair related services.

The Level II Jeweler will be responsible for the servicing and repair of all types of jewelry in accordance with Tiffany & Co. quality standards. The Level II Jeweler will organize assigned work based on completion schedule by meeting standard department turn time. The jeweler will maintain accurate data on completed orders, and regularly communicate the status of assigned work to operations coordinators or management as needed. The jeweler must possess excellent verbal communication skills so as to meet with clients and discuss their servicing needs as well as share and acquire skills through constructive collaboration with technical team members.

•Perform repairs and alterations on both new and customer’s own merchandise. These alterations and repairs include; post changes, shortening and lengthening of bracelets, chains and necklaces, as well as simple and complex ring sizing, all in accordance with Tiffany & Co. established quality and turn time standards.
•Perform thorough pre-check on all assigned jewelry and note condition on order, or verbally communicate to appropriate Customer Service Representative.
•Maintain accurate and organized record of completed repairs. Identify and requisition appropriate parts for repair; update administrative staff on status of repairs.
•Advise administrative staff or management of any areas of concern in regards to work capacity, merchandise quality, or issues with instruction or ability to complete requested task.
•Adhere to all Tiffany & Co safety measures, and bring to the attention of management any concerns.
•Ensure the security of all merchandise while in possession and during repair process.
•Express self clearly, concisely and with impact. Actively question and listen, and respond to questions in an understandable manner. Confirm with clients that messages are understood.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

•High School Diploma.
•Bench jeweler experience –working with high end and/or one-of-a-kind jewelry.
•Demonstrated Knowledge/experience of a Laser Welder Machine.
•Experience working with platinum, yellow gold, white gold.
•Extensive experience working with diverse materials (e.g., platinum, yellow gold, white gold) and gemstones/diamonds
•Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers and multiple staff levels.
•Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and partnership skills.
•Professional work ethic demonstrative of exceptional customer service, compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, security; attendance.
•Technical understanding of polishing and setting jewelry manufacturing techniques.
•Must be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and willing to change responsibilities within the department as needed by the business.
•Significant experience with performing and troubleshooting jewelry repairs.
•Flexibility to work overtime and/or modified work schedules as needed by the business.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience setting diamonds and colored gemstones.
•Proficiency using computers.
•Diamond and colored gemstone setting experience, high end jewelry.
•Jewelry/Manufacturing industry experience.
•Experience with diamonds and colored gemstones –certification preferred.
