Due to the growth of our business, we are seeking a bench jeweler whom we will train to also perform casting using the newest technology and equipment. There is no experience required for casting as this will be on the job training. The job is full time located in jewelers row in Chicago.
Bench Responsibilities:
•Resizings
•Prong tipping
•Soldering chains, shanks, heads, etc…
•Clean Castings, remove spruce, remove supports after casting
•Perform clean filing to prepare for pre-polish
•Assorted Bench Jeweler work
•Familiarity with laser welding is a plus
Casting Responsibilities:
•Quality control on waxes
•Set up casting trees with wax
•Measure and create proper investment mixture
•Program and operate all equipment to perform burnout and casting process
•Upon completion, remove investment from flasks
•Maintenance on all machinery and daily cleaning/upkeep
Qualifications:
•Follow precise instructions for casting in a timely manner
•Highly detail-oriented and attentive to perform clean work
•Bench Jeweler Experience working with all precious metals
•Timely and punctual
•Responsible and timely to ensure deadlines are met
•Trustworthy and honest
•Positive attitude that will fit into our upbeat culture
