As a family-owned company operating for 45+ years, our client partners with the local community throughout Southern California and is a thriving and expanding organization looking to add to their family. Specializing in custom designed jewelry and jewelry repair, they are seeking a highly trained jeweler with detailed and precise movement of the hands.
About The Jewelry Designer Position
This position is full time and the incumbent may work in-store or in personal home workshop. To be eligible for this position, candidates must be willing to adhere to full background check including: education, employment, criminal and drug screen.
Requirements For The Jewelry Designer
•Ability to evaluate space needed for setting pave or bead work, provide stone layouts in models or castings
•Strong setting ability and skills in all setting techniques
•Verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to respond to customer and workforce inquires
•Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
•Experience using traditional methods, such as beading tools, prong lifters, bezel rollers and tweezers.
•Experienced using modern technology such as microscopes, as well as design plans, either CAD (computer-aided design) or hand-drawn.
Educational Requirements For The Jewelry Designer
•Bachelor’s degree in jewelry design preferred
•European training required
•Professional diamond coursework diploma or certificate
Essential Duties For The Jewelry Designer
•Works from a blue print
•Places diamonds into a mold as specified
•Weighs and sorts diamonds
•Performs own inspections
•Adheres to all safety requirements
•Assures tools are in clean and proper condition for usage
•Maintains clean and orderly work area
•Follows all safety procedures, including the wearing of all required personal protective equipment as outlined in Employee Handbook, Health & Safety Manual and Emergency Response Plan Manual
•Performs tasks requested by Jewelry Store owners or Managers.
•Adheres to the Quality Policy and Standard Operating Procedures
