Duties And Responsibilities

Assembles, tests, and adjusts complete watch movements according to specifications, using watchmaker’s tools and loupe: attaches hairspring and balance assembly, train, escapement, winding and setting mechanism, mainspring, jeweled bearings, and bridges, using tweezers, hand staker, and other watchmaker’s tools, and loupe.

•Inspects movement for accuracy, diagnoses cause of defects, and replaces defective parts.
•Make quick and accurate troubleshooting decisions.
•Quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions to perform various tasks.
•Move hands and arms together to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects.
•Arrange items or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific sequence or set of rules.
•Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
•Concentrate on a task over longs periods of time without being distracted.
•Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

•High School diploma or equivalent required
•Drug screen and National Criminal Background Check are required.
•20 / 20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision. Have the ability to see details at close range.
•Able to sit for extended periods of time performing repetitive tasks.
•Excellent eye/hand coordination.
•Ability to handle small instruments with precision.
•Ability to understand and follow directions.
•Candidates with both electrical assembly and mechanical assembly are strongly encouraged to apply.

Special Notes About The Job

•Line employees (or Operators) will either work on the movement assembly (very small parts) or the watch assembly (bigger parts, like watch cases, straps, dials, hands.)
•All operators are required to wear a smock, a cap and antistatic shoes which will be provided by the company.
•No metal will be allowed in the assembly area (e.g. mobile phones, mp3 players, jewelry, rings, etc.).
•Operators have to go through a metal detector to go in and out of the secure area.

Work Environment

The position requires the employee to interact with lots of people in a light industrial manufacturing area. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high where for an individual without the experience in these types on environment might be disturbing. The plant shall remain dust-free at all times so proper attire will be provided by the company and shall be used at all times.

Rate of Pay: $15

Employment Type: Temporary with eligibility for Full-Time employment with benefits after 90 days.
