Watches have been making advancements in their technology and capabilities since their inception. We are on a never ending quest for the newest and best technology and innovation and that seen even in the humble wrist watch. Here are some of the most technologically advanced watches to date. The HD3 Slyde comes from Jorg Hysek Jr. and features an LED screen and sapphire crystals. It runs entirely on a CLT electronic movement and there are no physical buttons.

Seiko came out with the Astron, the first solar powered GPS watch ever made. It’s time accuracy is due to Automatic Atomic Time Synchronization that links it to GPOs satellites. Another watch that makes the list is the Tread1, designed by Devon, made in California. It used an Interwoven Time Belt system to keep it super accurate and was even nominated for the Gran Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève awards in 2010. Finally, the Azimuth SP-1 Mecanique features a jumping hour display and an image of the earth that rotates every 60 seconds. While these watches are some of the best that exists, tomorrow is a new day with something better just around the corner.
