Responsibilities :
Discuss repairs , adjustments , cleaning and jewellery design and manufacturing needs with our visitors
Provide estimates and quotes and work progress updates to customers verbally or by email
Complete in an efficient & professional manner all repairs , adjustments cleaning & new makes within an agreed timeframe
Be on top of all workshop related administration relating to invoicing , stock and required supplies ever monitoring and able to report on sales & budgets
Keeping our workshop looking its best – making sure it is clean , tidy and displays the craftmanship of jewellery creation
About you :
Be an experienced jeweller – you’ll need to be skilled in ring-sizing ,re-shanking , reshaping and performing general soldering repairs such as chain work
Able to create new mounts , melting down and using customer pieces to create anew – new commissions are often undertaken
Re-tipping and associated setting work would be beneficial but not essential
Appreciative of being within a fast-paced customer facing role , performing steam cleaning , polishing and rhodium plating is also necessary
As the workshop is a visible part of the visitor and customer experience there is a requirement to engage directly with clientele advising on repairs & alterations
Formal qualifications in Goldsmithing & Jewellery design and manufacture would be desirable for this role – a few years previous workshop working experience would be thought to be helpful
