We’re looking for someone with a passion for jewellery design and jewellery making to join our small team.

This temporary role is a fantastic opportunity to gain varied experience and learn from a multi skilled team. We will require you to work well independently with and within a team and be able to work with the public, drawing and sketching ideas, produce work to deadlines and have organisational skill with social media knowledge.

Every day is a bit different as we operate several businesses in the same building – Andrew Berry Jewellery, Berry Vintage, At The Bench and the At The Bench store – we’re always keen to try new ideas, we love working together and with other people.

The people you will be working alongside will be Andrew Berry, Louise Berry and Lee Appleby (All That Glitters participant) who will be there to guide and inspire you and also help you with personal projects you may be working on. Good record keeping is essential so one needs to be an accurate administrator and able to carry out given company protocols. The same can be said for other equally important areas such as company dress code, store security and adherence to agreed rota & work schedules.

Requirements – What You Need To Know

•Minimum of 3 years working at the bench, have some experience in operating various jewellery workshop equipment whilst, using hand tools and associated techniques used in the manufacture of jewellery.
•Impeccable attention to detail
•Ability to follow guidelines
•Collaborative: as a key part of a small team with tight deadlines.
•Open, friendly, demeanour, with proven track record in putting customer needs to the forefront.
•Ability to work under pressure, whether working on your own or helping out other team members.
•Clear and effective communication skills, able to break down designs into clearly defined concepts and ideas.
•Involved in maintaining our jewellery displays and the day to day housekeeping of the shop
•Eager to learn and build on your retail and product knowledge
•Follow and maintain company policies & procedures
•The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
•Must be able to use social media and be creative in your ideas and layouts in Facebook and Instagram

•Confident to ensure that we are driving the creativity of the different projects that we working on in an original and creative way
•Be highly flexible and able to adapt to a demanding, changing schedule.

Responsibilities will include dealing with the general public, creating amazing jewellery to a high standard, collaborating with the whole Andrew Berry team. The ability to take product photography and taking beautiful imagery for our digital platforms including website, social media and newsletters is desirable but not essential.

This role will be shop/workshop based and part-time (3 days a week) however this can be discussed further depending on the applicant. This is a 3 month fixed term position, beginning as soon as possible.
