Rings True is a small custom jewelry atelier with a primary focus on bridal. Our open studio and showroom are located inside a historic fabric mill in Carrboro, NC. The owner is a bench jeweler, and our five-person team is close-knit, collaborative, and deeply passionate about fine craftsmanship. We are a well-equipped shop and believe in investing in our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bench Jeweler with experience in custom jewelry, fabrication, and repair. The right candidate will be comfortable working with gold, platinum, and silver, and will have a strong eye for detail. You’ll contribute to creating custom pieces, producing inventory, and supporting repairs, all while working in a collaborative, detail-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean castings, assemble components, fabricate, and perform advanced stone setting (prong, bezel, fishtail, bead, pavé, channel).
• Manage and organize workflow to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, with tools and materials properly stored.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth shop operations.
• Support sales staff with repair take-ins, clean-and-checks, and customer questions. Interact with customers when needed at the counter.
• Assist with maintaining shop equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of bench jeweler experience.
• Proficient in soldering, laser welding, fabrication, stone setting, casting cleanup, and assembly.
• Strong understanding of tools and materials used in fine jewelry (gold, platinum, silver).
• Excellent attention to detail with commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Team-oriented yet self-motivated.

Preferred (not required)

• CAD modeling experience.
• Ability to sketch designs.
• Hand Engraving

Schedule

• Shop is open Monday – Saturday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
• Team members are required to be at the shop by 9:30 am to help set up
• Everyone is off on Sundays and you pick one other day off during the week
• Required to work on Saturdays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
