Job Description

The Tiffany Service Center Silversmith performs repairs for client owned and stock items. They are expected to use standard techniques including soldering, laser welding, fabrication, assembly, gluing, finishing, hallmarking, etc. The Silversmith possesses a deep knowledge of metals and other product materials and is able to communicate this knowledge to technical and non-technical co-workers. The Silversmith will partner with other Tiffany craftspeople to resolve challenging repairs and achieve client servicing expectations. They are responsible for working with others to support projects from conception to the end when project goals are met.

•Primary responsibilities include supporting Tiffany & Co. clients with top-level solutions for repairs.
•Focus on improving overall efficiency by adhering to Tiffany & Co. prescribed routing steps and within standard times for servicing of silver goods and key projects flowing through the Tiffany Service Center. Functions and responsibilities will be carried out in full compliance of quality standards, project timelines, work instructions and procedures.
•Communicate effectively to keep department management updated on project status, issues, and concerns. Identify potential barriers to meeting completion timelines as soon as they arise.
•Perform other duties including, but not limited to, jewelry and polishing work as assigned to support departmental objectives and deliverables.
•Verify the accuracy of work orders relating to client requested work instructions, item description and item condition.
•Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedures for craftspeople, as well as all safety procedures required at your worksite. Promptly report all incidents and safety issues to management.

Knowledge and Development

•Develop a working knowledge of Tiffany & Co. products including but not limited to designers, collections, materials, methods of manufacture and repair techniques.

•Proactively seek and apply new skills and techniques that result in quality, safety or productivity improvements.
•Proactively share skills and techniques with coworkers; actively collaborate with coworkers, administration and management in problem solving and process improvement.
•Provide assistance as needed throughout the center; perform alternate craft work as needed and as capable; assist administration with workflow management; participate in special projects.

Occupational Health and Safety

•Comply with all health and safety requirements including personal protective equipment, hazardous material handling and disposal, machine guarding, ergonomics, etc.
•Maintain a safe workstation free from risks. Immediately report any safety incidents, including “near misses”, to management
•Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the workshop; assist in cleaning and maintaining common areas and equipment; report any worn, broken or unsafe tools, equipment and supplies; identify and report any gaps in workshop infrastructure.

Required Qualification

•5+ years professional Silversmith experience or technical training
•Experience with performing and troubleshooting repairs
•Technical understanding of polishing and manufacturing techniques
•Extensive experience working with diverse materials
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience of a laser welding and torch soldering techniques
•Must be flexible to adapt to changing priorities and willing to change responsibilities within the department as needed by the business
•Demonstrated English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with multiple staff levels
•Strong organizational, interpersonal and partnership skills
•Professional work ethic demonstrative of exceptional client service, compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, security, and attendance.
•High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

•8+ years of Silversmith experience
•Experience in any of the following: Jewelry repair or making, chasing, plating, and metal finishing
•Jewelry/Manufacturing industry experience
