Overview
The Assembly Production Jeweler / Solderer will be responsible for the detailed prepping of precious metal products (platinum, gold and silver) by safely utilizing proper jeweler hand and power tools and equipment. Must meet all safety, quality, productivity and security expectations for this position.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for the detailed cleaning of precious metal products by safely utilizing proper jeweler hand and power tools and equipment
•Responsible for the detailed soldering of precious metal products
•Verify the accuracy of all work orders upon receipt and announce any discrepancies to management prior to starting work.
•All work orders must be checked for count; verifying jewelry is the proper type of material, stones are of the proper type and color and jewelry is the proper size, maintaining security of all assets at all times.
•Maintain a safe and clean work area and properly maintain tools and machines.
•Participate in all departmental activities associated with safety and housekeeping.
Qualifications:
•Knowledgeable techniques to solder gold, platinum and silver
•Use of laser welder for assembly and repair
•Ability to use hand tools
•Knowledge in the handling of diamond and stone material in jewelry production
•Ability to communicate in English with all levels on a daily basis, if necessary
•Ability to read blue prints and understand quality requirements
•Basic computer skills
•Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team as well as an individual
•Able to work in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
•High School or GED
•Previous experience working with fine jewelery
•Ability to work non standard hours and overtime during peak business periods
