The Horological Society of New York (HSNY) is launching a new testing and certification service foee NYC based watchmakers and manufacturers. The launch coincided with the launch of a new timepiece produced in partnership with Massena LAB and Habring2. The watch combines designs and production of the two and is chronometer certified by HSNY. HSNY does the testing for the certification over 15 days in a range of temperatures to simulate daily wear in any condition. One major different with this certification is that they are doing visual rate testing instead of using timing machines. Visual rate takes longer but is able to give for reliable results. After testing is completed, the watch is sent back with a physical certificate that can be used to market the watch and its quality.
