Bench Jeweler
We are seeking a Bench Jeweler to be based in our Brooklyn, NY location. We are a company with a long tradition of crafting beautiful school rings and jewelry that students and alumni want to wear, and we also offer a carefully curated selection of other bespoke and fine jewelry items.
As the Bench Jeweler, you will work with the manufacturing team to create finished school and bespoke jewelry by bringing a raw casting through to the final product, ready to deliver to our clients. This process includes cast cleaning, sizing, stone setting, polishing and quality checks.
Responsibilities:
•Semi-finish raw castings made from sterling silver, all karats of gold, and platinum in preparation for engraving
•Stone setting, including hammer set stones
•Collaborate with manufacturing team to prepare CAD prints for casting
•Final finishing; application of antique finishing as needed
•Ring sizing
•Use appropriate tooling as required
•Comply with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
•1-3 years bench jeweler (or relevant) experience in skilled trades working with fine metals
•Ability to be critical of one’s work and to perform self-quality checks with excellent attention to detail
•Computer literacy
•Highly self-motivated and organized
•Able to meet deadlines
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to adapt and problem solve
•High school diploma or GED
