Description
We are a well-established, family owned fine jewelry store in Kingston, NY seeking a part time bench jeweler. Responsibilities include jewelry repair and custom design work. Candidate must be a self-motivated, creative, and dedicated individual with a passion for craftsmanship and design.
The candidate must be a team player able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment. Occasionally, the individual may work directly with customers to design jewelry and bring the design to fruition.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in jewelry repair/design is required. Skills must include soldering, sizing, setting stones, cleaning, polishing, assembly (rings, bracelets, earrings, etc.).
Provide a resume including past work history and contacts, as well as a portfolio of jewelry you have created and/or helped to design.
Requirements
The ability to work in a fast paced, customer service-oriented retail environment a must. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience as a bench jeweler. Skills must include basic to advanced soldering, ring sizing, stone setting (including all fancy shapes), cleaning, polishing/finishing, assembly (rings, bracelets, earrings, etc.). Experience working with 10 karat, 14 karat, 18 karat gold, platinum, and silver also a must.
