Job Summary:

You must be highly skilled and experienced in repairing and servicing high-end and luxury timepieces, including all types of complicated movements and knowledge of proper refinishing techniques. Established vendor relationships a plus. Must be able to take written and spoken instructions, and complete work in a timely manner.

Summary of Duties

Our Watchmaker is responsible for authenticating and fully overhauling watches, with a specialization in high complications and high production. Bixlers is currently a partner to multiple high-luxury watch brands, on which we work on a daily basis.

In this role you will…

•Evaluate, service, clean and repair customer-owned merchandise for complex quartz and mechanical watches.

•Perform case repair and refinishing, water resistance methods, parts requisition and testing techniques according to quality standards.

•Follow established manufacturing and safety procedures.

•Experience working with multiple brands of watches.

•Complete watch overhauls in a timely manner.

•Prepare watches for sale, performing work ranging from basic regulation to complete service.

•Complete repairs on time and according to high standards.

•Maintain a clean workshop.

•Meet assigned daily deadlines.

•Prepare polished cases for own work.

Qualifications

•Industry Recognized Certification in Watchmaking is Required for this role. Below are some accepted certifications in order of preference;

CMW21 – Certified Master Watchmaker of the 21st Century.

CW21 – Certified Watchmaker of the 21st Century.

SAWTA – Swiss American Watchmaking Alliance Certification.

WOSTEP – Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Education Program Certification.

Other certifications will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

•Minimum 5 years of watch servicing experience.

•At least High School Degree or equivalent required.

•Experience and certification with luxury brands, such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Breitling, Tag Heuer, etc.

•Knowledge in chronographs, perpetual calendars, automatic movements, and lathe work.

•Ability to pass bench test.

•Exceptional attention to detail.

•Strong time management skills.

•Friendly, trustworthy, and reliable.

•Highly organized.

•Ability to work independently as well as on a team.

•Ability to communicate complex theory and issues to a broad audience.

•Strong communication, organizational and mechanical skills.

•Candidates must possess authorization to work in Canada.

Requirements

•Education: High school Degree or equivalent.

•Experience: Watch Servicing Experience of 5 years or more.

•Certifications: Industry Recognized Certification in Watchmaking is Required for this role. Below are some accepted certifications in order of preference;

WOSTEP

Other certifications will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

•Computer Skill: Ability to use computers, basic administrative software and Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Excel and Word at a working level.
