We are seeking a talented individual to join our Fine Jewelry and Timepiece team located at our headquarters in Carlsbad, CA!

As a Watchmaker/Horologist, you will evaluate & repair pre-owned luxury quartz and mechanical timepieces (Cartier, IWC, Patek, Rolex, Panerai, etc.) from clients in our showroom(s) and online. Our watchmaker should be knowledgeable of all types of quartz and mechanical timepieces and execute repairs on site and in an accurate and efficient manner.

This is a key position for Fashionphile, as our business is selling pre-owned designer handbags, fine jewelry and timepieces. We’re proud to deliver an immense selection of brands and styles, while continuing to grow our inventory and customer supplier base at an energetic pace. This is a part-time position paying $23 – $26 an hour, depending on experience.

What You’ll Do:

•Authenticate and execute timing adjustments pending condition upon arrival
•Refinish and clean of cases, bracelets, dials, hands and crystals
•Add links and evaluate overall condition of bracelets/straps
•Pressure test all timepieces
•Provide support and counsel to Fine Jewelry Authentication and Fine Jewelry Procurement Team
•Inspect and evaluate all timepiece returns
•Assist in the creation of brand guides
•Maintain workshop tools, equipment and supplies.
•Use all available resources to help decrease return rate
•Identify movement condition and correlating model/serial numbers

What is required: Knowledge, Skills and Experience

•Degree from an accredited school of watchmaking or 3-5 years of experience in working on quartz and mechanical timepieces
•2-5 years experience in authenticating timepieces
•Customer service minded individuals with a high standard for quality work
•Extreme attention to detail
•Ability to meet deadlines
•Assist in teaching and giving positive feedback
•Ability to work well both independently and in a collaborative environment
•Demonstrate willingness to be proactive and remain productive as workflow changes and priorities workflow accordingly
•Familiar with vintage, modern and secondary market timepieces
•Fluent in English, including reading and spelling

Production Requirements:

•Evaluate a minimum of 50 pieces per day
