Established in 1804, Beards of Cheltenham and London is one of the UK’s most prestigious Jewellers. As our client’s lead watchmaker, it is essential that you possess OMEGA accreditation level 3; if your capabilities have also been certified/recognised by Breitling or Cartier this will be of definite interest.

As a workbench professional of the highest calibre, you are mindful of deadlines, enjoy team interaction, are naturally analytical, able to concentrate on every detail, and possess an abundance of patience.

Overseeing all the department’s operational functions, you will be demonstrably adept at managing incoming and outgoing work in a timely manner. You will uphold the very highest standards of health and safety, and ensure all equipment and tooling is in perfect operational order.

You will order and allocate spare parts, and by your personal example you will set the tone of efficiency that will facilitate the growth and ever increasing revenue contribution to the business of the workshop you will lead.

The hands-on focus of the role is to service mechanical watches, mechanical chronographs, and quartz movements. Familiarity with co-axials is extremely desirable, but is not a must-have selection criterion. Additionally, you will be skilled in all aspects of refinishing/refurbishing watches entrusted to your departmental care.

An ability to offer diagnosis and produce commercially-accurate estimates, to be communicated to your aftersales team partners, will be a daily requirement.

You will be expected to QC your own work to a very high standard.

Aftersales colleagues must be constantly apprised of your activities, requiring you to record salient work flow information in an accurate and timely manner.

You will also be on hand to assist, train and mentor a junior watchmaking colleague.

This greatly admired Jeweller, now six generations in the making, still to this day recognises that its trading excellence begins and ends with the knowledge and professionalism of its staff, including the technically gifted Senior Watchmaker they are now seeking to appoint.
