This is an opportunity for someone who:
– Is a fully qualified watchmaker having obtained a Trade Certificate in Watch and Clockmaking or international equivalent; or has a minimum of four years’ experience.
– Has great communication skills and enjoys dealing with people, including trade and retail customers.
The job description includes the following tasks:
– Watch and clock repairs including
– quartz watches and clocks – general maintenance, battery changes, pressure tests, complete services, replacing movements
– mechanical watches and clocks – general maintenance, complete strip down and services including high end Swiss watches
– Refinishing case and bracelets
– Diagnostic testing and estimates
– Some administration work
– Serving customers, both trade and retail
– Answering phone calls
– Training where required
The position is for a minimum of 40 hours per week plus one Saturday in every four on a rotation basis (approximately).
Ilam Watchmakers started in 2001 and has grown steadily. We are one of the largest watch repair centres in New Zealand. We are an Authorised Service Centre for Omega as well as many other brands. We repair all brands of watches and clocks.
The pay rate for this position will be between NZ$33.00 and NZ$40.00 per hour.
