An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Watchmaking team in Croydon as a Watch Technician. The role offers an attractive challenge for a motivated candidate, as well as opportunities to develop in the role as individual skill and workload permits. Full training and support will be given with the intention of the successful candidate joining and completing an Apprenticeship programme in 2023.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a certain level of dexterity, as well as bring a positive, engaged attitude to the team. Patience and focus are essential.
Tasks in this role include, but are not restricted to:
Stripping watches.
Polishing and cleaning watches.
Picking parts and putting into work boxes.
Diagnose and prepare estimates for client repairs.
Making sure workshop parts stock levels are kept up to date.
Making up parts kit bags.
Cleaning, draining and maintaining equipment in polishing room at end of week.
Making sure polishing room consumables are ordered with the watchmaker in charge of ordering.
Cover admin office during holiday periods and absences.
Being involved in watch staff sales and bracelet resizing etc.
Any other tasks as required as part of the role in the workshop and as requested by workshop manager.

After an initial interview, the next stage would involve a practical assessment and a period spent in the workshop alongside the current team.
