Due to the continued development and expansion of the company we currently have a vacancy for an experienced Bench Jeweller to join our metal workshop team in Ashbourne, Derbyshire in the manufacturing of jewellery patterns from our existing fine jewellery range and also bespoke customer requests.
This is a very exciting time to join the company with our new Carsington National Gemstone and Jewellery Design Centre opening in Summer 2023, with state-of-the-art workshop space and beautiful views across the reservoir.
Duties/Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will be proficient in jewellery making skills
- Experienced stone setter
- Capable model maker including casting masters
- Understand and interpret bespoke briefs and create designs accordingly
- Working knowledge of precious and semi-precious gemstones
- Fettler skills – cleaning up castings
- Producing production orders to the highest standard in a timely manner
- Anticipate possible production issues and communicate this to the required team
- Helping with repairs and resizing as and when required
- Comfortable working with hand tools and machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Educated in a relevant jewellery qualification with a passion for jewellery
- Excellent hand to eye coordination
- Self-starter who can work autonomously
- Responsible and well organized
- Meticulous eye for detail
- Enthusiastic with a positive approach to work
- Impeccable time management skills
- Outstanding team working ethos
