POSITION SUMMARY

Chanel, Inc., a leader in the luxury goods industry, seeks a Watchmaker Technician for our 57th Street Boutique. The Watchmaker Technician will support the Customer Care Department activities including, but not limited to:

Providing Hands on technical support and repairing of CHANEL Watches
Supporting administrative tasks related to maintenance and repairs of CHANEL watches
Making sound decisions with a focus on clients, quality, and inventory
Inputting and Managing Customer Care data into relevant systems for daily operations and reporting purposes

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Hands on Technical Support of After Sales Service Repairs

Verify product and or component authenticity
Physical inspection and testing of watches and propose a diagnosis
Report the proposed diagnosis to Concierge for client approval
Enter approved diagnosis in system and enter recommended level of service needed to return the watch to full functionality in the repair system
Suggest optional repairs or maintenance to extend the life or esthetic look of the watch if needed
Research all part numbers needed to repair watch and enter into repair system
Verify that damage or needed repairs are covered under warranty
Picking all parts/components needed and the physical disassembly, repair, replacement, calibration and reassembly of all approved repair as per clients request and or needs
Full cleaning and or polishing of all internal and external components on all repair jobs as needed
Complete testing and quality control of all completed watch repairs including but not limited to timing accuracy, average rate, beat error, amplitude, consumption, power reserve, vacuum, air-pressure, and or diving pressure
Assist in processing Repairs in CASS Repair System as needed

Quality

Assist in management of all quality alerts for boutique
Perform stock checks to assess damages in boutique
Provide technical expertise for front of house coordinators as needed
Provide verbal or written expertise as needed by front of house staff

Inventory Management

Assist in requesting spare parts from corporate office
Assist in ensuring all inventory of COM, STOCK and Parts are properly stored and secured
Help with spare parts replenishment orders request for the boutique.
Process incoming spare parts. Helps to sort and organize parts and components
Recommends increase or decrease of spare parts model stock.
Helps ensure workshop is fully stocked with office and shipping supplies at all times

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong watchmaking skills
Strong knowledge of mechanical movements
Strong knowledge of quartz movement
Strong knowledge of automatic chronographs
High degree of organization and follow-through
High attention to detail
Excellent communication skills

Special Requirements of the Position:

Must be experienced working on high quality luxury timepieces
Polishing experience a plus

Minimum Education: Formal Training in Watchmaking or equivalent experience
Minimum Years of Experience: 2-5 Years as a Watchmaker/Technician
