Role Description

The Watch Tech role is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY. The person in this role will perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on mechanical and quartz timepieces, including movement regulation, cleaning, and replacement of components. Day-to-day activities include disassembly and reassembly of watches, case and bracelet refinishing, battery changes, water-resistance testing, and quality checks to ensure brand standards are met. The Watch Tech will document work performed, maintain organized workstations and tooling, and follow established service protocols and timelines. This role also involves collaborating with customer service and sales teams to clarify service needs and support an excellent client experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical watchmaking skills, including experience with mechanical and quartz movements, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Proficiency in using watchmaking tools and equipment, such as timing machines, pressure testers, and specialized hand tools.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to perform precise work under magnification.
  • Understanding of luxury watch standards, finishing techniques, and quality control procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with service and sales teams in a customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to manage workload, follow service processes, and meet turnaround timelines in a structured workshop setting.
  • Professional experience as a watch technician or watchmaker; completion of watchmaking or technical training is highly beneficial.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace and adhering to company policies and ethical standards.
