The Watch Repair Coordinator processes watches going to the factory for repair and maintains related documentation. Answers associates and customers questions concerning factory repair charges, job completion, pick-up dates, job complexity, etc. Performs basic watch repairs on quartz watches: battery changes, changing/sizing watch bands, ultrasonic cleaning. Assists Customer Service Representative in providing clients with estimates using a clear and technical explanation.
Responsibilities and Duties:

•Prepares tracks and maintains documentation for stock and customer watch factory repairs. Records job information in computer. Prepares merchandise to be shipped.
•Coordinates repairs with Borsheims’ Watchmakers to determine best option and repair price.
•Obtains factory repair estimates. If estimate is over pre-authorized amount, contacts customer to relay repair estimate and/or obtain approval for repair.
•Maintains and updates computer records as jobs move from one destination to another or as information regarding repair is received/communicated to customer from job creation through job completion.
•Inspects merchandise upon receipt, reconciles paperwork to ensure proper repair(s) and invoicing. Sends invoices to accounts payable. Forwards merchandise to Watchmaker for quality assurance check.
•Notifies customer when merchandise is received or in the event of delay in repair process/merchandise availability.
•Performs miscellaneous basic level repairs on quartz watches: battery changes, changing watch bands, performs ultrasonic cleaning, etc. Sizes all types of karat, non-karat and platinum watch bands.
•Assists Customer Service Representatives in providing clients with estimates using a clear and technical explanation.
•Answers questions concerning warranty options, job charges, job completion, pick-up dates, job complexity, etc.
•Assists Watchmaker in ordering parts and tools needed in order to complete customer requests.
•Follows proper procedures for maintaining, storing, and eliminating all chemical solutions associated with required work. Follows chemical and equipment safety procedures: SDS, etc.
•Performs other related duties as requested.

Essential Job Functions:

•Ability to work assigned schedule on a regular basis.
•Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
•Ability to see well enough to read small print, identify merchandise, and read a computer screen and printout; with aid of minor magnification check quality of work on small parts or entire pieces of watch items.
•Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse with others in person, via telephone and paging system.
•Ability to move about the store from department to department, get behind narrow counter areas, and bend down or reach up into drawers/shelves.
•Dexterity to write in small print, hold on to and use watchmaker tools, handle small watch parts while repairing, bend over and pick up dropped materials, operate a computer keyboard, and operate office equipment.
•Stamina to sit for over eight hours and focus on small detailed work.
•Ability to work in a shop environment i.e. elevated noise, minor dust, etc.
•Ability to lift and carry approximately 20 lbs.
