SUMMARY

Inspects cosmetic appearance and working condition of watches. Performs minor cleaning, minor to medium difficulty movement and bracelet repairs and polishing as necessary.

The position is located in our Torrance, CA facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•Using magnifier (hand held or watchmaker loupe) visually inspects watch to evaluate performance and identify appearance flaws (scratches, gouges, discoloration, wear).
•Sorts watches into classification as either in need of reconditioning or acceptable as first quality.
•Checks battery life expiration/ energy cell and replaces as necessary.
•Performs minor cleaning of exterior of watch using polishing cloth, mild household cleaning solvents (i.e., soap and water, rubbing alcohol, paint thinner) acetone, windex and small brushes.
•Uses hand held compressed air gun to dry components or complete watches.
•May change batteries, bracelets, crystals, hands, dials, and/or stem and crown using basic hand tools (i.e., jewelers screwdriver, tweezers, or pliers).
•Polishes/buffs case and bracelet to recondition as needed using buffing compounds, polishing cloth, mild household cleaning solvents.
•Maintains production standard of 55 to 65 watches per day.
•Able to appear for work on time and with regularity;
•Able to follow directions from a supervisor;
•Able to interact effectively with co-workers, team members, and management;
•Able to understand and follow work rules and procedures;
•The ability to accept constructive criticism.

QUALIFICATIONS

•High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training on the field of watch repair. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Excellent eye sight and good hand/eye coordination.
•Attention to detail is critical.
•Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
