Alter’s Gem Jewelry is a 103-year-old, family-owned jewelry store located in Beaumont, Texas and we are seeking a phenomenal Bench Jeweler to join our team. When people shop for jewelry, they’ll shop the world. But when people need a repair, they go to the place they TRUST. As the jewelry leader in Southeast Texas we have earned the trust of our clients, and we need your help to ensure we continue to deliver for them.
YOU’VE GOT THE SKILLS
•You can complete at least 15 jobs a day
•You deliver on time, and it’s always right the first time
•You are fully-skilled in all forms of setting (prong, channel, bright-cut, flat, micropavé, bezel, etc..)
•You can set it and size it the same day if needed
•Once in a while, you might even perform a bit of a miracle for our clients
•You have the patience to deal with problems and approach people with kindness
•You lead by example
•You love life
•You love people
•You are detail-oriented – For instance, if you don’t read this posting thoroughly (hint hint), we will never see your resume.
You don’t have to worry about CAD design.
WE’VE GOT THE TOOLS
You will manage our on-site jewelry repair room and it’s top-of-the-line equipment, including:
•Laser Welder
•Steamer
•Benches
•Polishing Room
If you have your own hand tools, great! If not, we’ll help you buy them.
WORKING TOGETHER
Our clients are at the center of everything we do. And one big advantage we have over internet retailers is that we can deliver for them today.
To get that done, you’ll be responsible for evaluating and managing jobs and ordering materials. We’ll empower you to use your judgement to get the work done. For example: If you have an order to fix three prongs but discover five actually need repair. Well you don’t need to get permission to do what is RIGHT: you just fix all five prongs.
As a jeweler, you are often the unsung hero by your commitment to saving the day for our customers and our sales team. Everyone makes mistakes, but you are always ready to come to the rescue! No cape required.
