Jewelry Depot is a retail jewelry store located in Brighton, Michigan. Founded by Dan and Rochelle Dolby, Jewelry Depot is a local leader in jewelry quality, service, and craftsmanship. Dan and Rochelle have 33 years experience in the jewelry industry, experience that has earned Dan the nickname “Dan The Diamond Man.” The Jewelry Depot has been serving Livingston County for 25 years and is a registered member of Jewelers of America.
At Jewelry Depot, we pride ourselves on our extensive selection of diamonds. We have an enormous stock that offers you a choice of certified or non-certified diamonds in a variety of shapes and sizes. At Jewelry Depot our promise is to help you get the biggest, prettiest diamond you possibly can. That’s the promise spoken in every radio commercial by Dan “The Diamond Man” Dolby.
Responsibilities:
•Repair and create jewelry in fast paced retail store.
•Set, tighten and mount stones in mountings.
•Work with gold, silver, and platinum also precious or semi precious stones.
•Perform repairs, such as make rings larger and smaller, soldering pieces of jewelry together, replace broken clasps, clean up castings.
•Perform quality inspections on all completed work to ensure the highest quality standard is kept.
•Perform other duties as needed.
•Provide excellent customer service.
•Provide assistance with the daily administrative duties.
•Assure inventory is secure at the close of the day.
Skills:
•15 years of experience
•Knowledge of various metals, including gold, silver, and platinum.
•Ability to work with diamonds and colored gemstones.
•Knowledge of jeweler’s tools machinery and equipment.
•Ability to sit for extended periods throughout the day.
•Ability to perform assemble, and polish, including stone setting, sizing, stone setting (bead, channel, and prong), retipping, rebuild prongs and wax carving (shadow bands).
