Vacancy for Bench Jeweler (Erie,PA)

We are looking for an experienced bench jeweler who enjoys working independently but also as a team member with our other part-time jewelers. Candidates with strong communication skills, who can work as a team with others as well as make customers feel welcome in our store will do very well! Ultimately, you will ensure that customers jewelry leave our store in better condition than it came in to us!

We are also looking for candidates with knowledge of stone setting, sizing, re-tipping & rebuilding of prongs as well as other jewelry repair skills.

Desired Bench Skills:

• Chain and clasp repair/soldering
• Re-tipping or re-building prongs
• Setting stones of various shapes and sizes
• Proper rhodium plating
• Soldering cracks and breaks in jewelry
• Working with platinum in terms of sizing or re-tipping prongs.
• Working with a laser welder to conduct repairs.

Position Requirements:

• High school degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
• 5 years Bench Jeweler (or relevant) experience in skilled trades working with fine metals.
• Passing a qualified bench test to assess current jeweler level.
• Excellent organizational skills & attention to details.
• Customer service minded individuals with a high standard for quality work.
• AJP and/or New Approach education/training is a plus!

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
