Master Bench Jeweler – On-Site Team

Laviticus, an upscale, full-service, minority-owned, custom hip-hop jewelry company with manufacturing located in DFW is seeking a Master Bench Jeweler to become part of our team. If you have a passion for jewelry and a positive attitude, we invite you to apply for a position with our company.

Your responsibilities:

•Must be able to execute all products in our line. Our full product line can be found at www.laviticus.com.

•Must have the ability to bring raw materials through to the final perfect product, ready to deliver to our clients. This includes wax-carving, stone-setting, sizing, retipping, welding, casting, soldering, polishing, engraving, cleaning, and other work consistent with Laviticus standards of quality.

•Polishing: carefully executing a bright mirror finish without reducing the metal or prong material on our delicate pieces.

•Post assembly that is centered and straight.

•Stone setting: straight, zig-zag, prong-set and princess cuts, and a lot of small melee prong settings. All stones must be tight, straight, and without any shifting.

•Ability to be extremely critical of your work and able to perform self-quality checks.

Excellent written communication skills are required for this role. You must be able to communicate with our in-house team regarding quality, questions, and anything that needs further attention on every work order.

•A willingness to learn the Laviticus method of performing tasks, so we may achieve consistent results across all of our jewelers.

•This role requires casting and hand-fabricating from sheet or design.

•The candidate should be an exacting, quality-focused jeweler who has mastered working in gold, silver and advanced stone-setting

Requirements to Apply:

•Must have professional experience working in fine jewelry

•Minimum of 5-10 years of custom jewelry experience

•Degree or completed certificate in metal smithing (Preferred)

•Experience with gold, silver, and platinum manufacturing/casting, basic sizing, and soldering & prong setting in gold, silver, and platinum.

•Experience in designing custom jewelry

•Experience in precious stone-setting

•Ability to complete jewelry repairs in gold, silver, and platinum

•Self-driven and organized

•Able to meet deadlines

•Must be able to work independently and in a team environment

•Must be comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment

•Must have a long-term commitment to this position

Other Details:

Job Type: This is an independent contractor position with opportunity for a full-time position including benefits as business grows..

Pay: $18 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week

Monday through Friday

Flexible shift

This role will require a commitment that is equivalent to a full-time job. Our contractors are treated as part of our team. This is not a part-time commitment.

We require candidates to pass a bench test to demonstrate proficiency in the listed required skills. If we decide to select you for this test after the initial virtual interview, it will be similar to a working interview and you will be paid for your time. This test will be conducted in-office. Background checks and reference calls will be completed prior to extending an offer for this position.
