Shipley’s Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, a family owned business, for 30 years located on Main Street, Hampstead, MD is looking for a part-time or full time experienced bench jeweler. Specializing in one of a kind, custom work, and the highest quality customer service.
Our bench jewelers serve as an integral member of our team. Whether you are working on a custom job, repair, or building a piece for our showroom we are proud of our motivating, creative and enjoyable work environment. Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
•Must be able to provide excellent quality repairs and customer service.
•Jewelry and watch battery replacement performed on site while customer is waiting.
•Must provide the highest quality repairs in a timely manner to meet our customer expectations.
•Performs prong replacements.
•Performs chain repair which may require advanced repair techniques.
•Conducts sizing (up and down) for merchandise of all precious metals.
•Performs replacements- New head, Hinge joint, Shank replacement, set and repair Invisible diamond settings, rebuilding of ring channels
•Knowledge and maintenance of Laser Machine.
•Properly sets marquise and baguette shaped stones in all types of settings
•Setting skills to include shared prong, pave and bezel set stones.
•Must have the ability to multi-task and want to learn many functions of jewelry repair
•Very good communication skills. Must be able to consult with customers to uncover jewelry repair needs.
•Must be willing to assist at the sales counter when called during busy periods.
Screening will include a background check.
Experience: Will be bench tested on abilities.
