Our Northern Bergen County location is perfect for the person who doesn’t want the hustle and bustle of working in NYC. We are offering a great opportunity for an experienced or apprentice jeweler who wants to learn and grow in their craft. We will train on laser welding technology. Qualified candidates will bring excellent attention to detail, adaptability, trustworthiness, and a desire to work in a small team environment. JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Bench Jeweler is primarily responsible for setting, assembling, repairing, cleaning, polishing and maintaining merchandise consistent with Company quality standards and service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Restores damaged or broken jewelry while maintaining quick turn-around times
•Repairs broken clasps, pins, rings, and other jewelry by soldering or replacing broken parts
•Uses Laser to solder chains to personalized & engraved pieces
•Adheres to all safety-related procedures to reduce the risk of accidents

•Will collaborate with design, production and distribution teams
•Experience of working with 14k and 18k yellow, rose and white gold is a plus

SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE:

· At least 2+ years of work experience in jewelry production and repair is required, Goldsmith a plus.

· Knowledge of jeweler’s tools, machinery and equipment required

•Advanced jewelry repair knowledge a plus
•Ability to process a lot of small pieces with precise work
•Laser welding experience a plus but will train
•Ability to follow directions, multi-task, prioritize duties and complete tasks in a timely manner
•Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
•Lift and carry approximately 20 lbs
•Can sit for prolonged periods
•Ability to process a lot of small pieces with precise work
•Knowledge of various chemical solutions used for jewelry making/repair and should have experience working with the same
•Expertise in setting/replacing gemstones and diamonds with different types of settings is a plus

EDUCATION:

HS Degree or above and JA Certified Bench Jeweler (CBJ) a plus
