Full Job Description
Portland Oregon- Maloy’s Jewelry, a small but mighty local business with over 35 years Downtown, is looking for an additional bench jeweler. We are seeking an experienced, well rounded goldsmith to join our team. Because we specialize in antiques, every day is different and interesting.
Must have a minimum 3 years professional experience. This is NOT an apprentice position. Main duties will be repairs, everything from simple ring sizing to complex restoration. Some custom work possible. Hours, compensation TBD based on experience.
Skill summary-
–Minimum 3 years professional bench experience- this is NOT an apprentice position
–Must be skilled in all metals, including platinum, gold, and silver
–Must be proficient in all aspects of jewelry repair
–Stone setting (prong, plate, bezel, channel) experience preferred
–Fabrication skills required
–Laser experience a plus
–Appreciation and understanding of vintage jewelry a plus
Please have a portfolio or samples of your work. Alternately, we may ask you to complete a bench test to demonstrate qualifications, potentially including ring sizing, stone setting, gold soldering, etc…
