DESIGN & SERVICE CENTER JEWELER
Directly supervised by the Design & Service Center Manager

Summary
Under supervision from the Design & Service Center
Manager, the Jeweler is required to perform repair/custom building of jewelry to Signet’s quality standards as defined by their job title. In addition, they must assist in administrative and clerical duties that support the overall success of the assigned Design & Service Center in the absence of the Apprentice.
Attain personal goals by developing performance skills through Company training and mentoring programs.

Responsibilities
1. Adhere to Company policies and procedures in support of the Company’s
business objectives, Core Values and Signet’s “Guest first” philosophy.
2. Responsible for maintaining the following work schedule: three (3) nights per
week or as required by the Design & Service Center Manager, Sunday on
alternate basis or as needed.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.
4. Consistent, regular scheduled attendance is an essential function of this job.
5. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as
required by the Design & Service Center Manager.
Required Skills and Abilities

Jeweler C

1. Must be able to perform all Apprentice tasks
2. Must be proficient to complete an average 20 jobs of this type a day, including
polishing
3. Ability to pass a bench test for assessment and quality assurance purposes
4. Size down a ladies ring
5. Size up a gents ring
6. Half shank a ring (ladies or gents)
7. Solder two rings together
8. Solder break on a herringbone chain
9. Solder break in a hollow rope chain
10.Repair the hinge on a tennis bracelet
11.Flat engraving
12.Restring pearls
13.Working with or sizing of silver product

Jeweler B

1. Must be able to perform all Apprentice through Jeweler C tasks
2. Must be proficient at all tasks listed below and be able to complete 30+ jobs a
day at level C
3. Ability to pass a bench test for assessment and
quality assurance purposes
4. Install head, and set any round and marquise shaped stones
5. Platinum sizing
6. Retip and rebuild prongs (including cluster settings)
7. Reset any replacement stone in prongs

Jeweler A

1. Must be able to perform all Apprentice th
rough Jeweler B tasks
2. Must be proficient at all tasks below and be able to complete 35+ jobs a day at
level C or 25+ jobs a day at level B
3. Ability to pass a bench test for assessment and quality assurance purposes
4. Install heads, and set any fancy shaped s
tones (including princess cut stones)
5. Channel set round diamonds
6. Rebuild channels on rings
7. Bezel set round stones

Jeweler AA

1. Must be able to perform all Apprentice through Jeweler A tasks
2. Must be proficient at all tasks below and be able to complete all other tasks at
an A level or below
3. Ability to pass a bench test for assessment and quality assurance purposes
4. Bead setting
5. Flush setting
6. Channel set baguettes
7. Wax carving
8. Fabrication of jewelry
9. Vacuum casting/burnout

Physical Demands
Must perform administrative and jewelry tasks in a sitting down position for an
extended period.
Repetitive movements.
Lifting of boxes and/or files of weights less than 25 lbs.

Experience:

Jeweler: 1 year (Preferred)
Bench Jeweler: 1 year (Preferred)
