Our client in the Pacific Northwest specializes in uniquely created, high quality repair and custom designed handcrafted jewelry made in gold and platinum. Starting with expertly hand carved or CAD wax models, then casting the precious metals, acquiring and setting fine gemstones and diamonds and ultimately complete finish. Every step is overseen onsite in our boutique production shop.
Our new Full Time Bench Jeweler will have an opportunity for exponential professional development. Think of this as a paid apprenticeship or Master’s course for the first few years. You will work hand in hand with two of the finest Goldsmith’s in the Pacific Northwest to create and repair one of a kind, remarkable jewelry.
Different from a corporate retail bench you’ll learn and develop skills beyond those of a traditional Goldsmith. In addition to the tricks of the trade you’ll learn to walk customers through the design process, manage expectations, problem solve, deliver an “experience”, and more. Skills that will lay the foundation for a long and successful career.
We’re seeking a go-getter, a self-motivated A-player. Someone we can invest in who’s passionate about the industry and willing to do nothing less than the highest quality work. Simply put, anything that goes out our front door, is built correctly.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Experience and Knowledge:
•Experience behind a Jeweler’s bench, familiarity with the tools of the trade
•Hands on time spent finishing and polishing, hand forging, tipping, soldering, setting: prong, bezel, channel, bead, rub and hammer
•Handcrafted wax carving
•Familiarity with and/or experienced in CAD design, extra credit given if it’s Gemvision
•Maintain an organized and clean workspace and environment
•Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and accomplish daily and long term goals
•Willingness to learn
•Ability to work Saturdays
