Apply now to further your brilliant career in fine jewelry! D.J. Bitzan Jewelers is seeking a bench jeweler for our full-service, on-site jewelry repair and fabrication shop. We provide high-quality jewelry repair services to our clients and finishing and fabrication for items in our showroom.
We are family-owned and operated; a long-standing member of the Central MN community. D.J. Bitzan Jewelers has been named “Best Jeweler” in Central Minnesota for 7 years running.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Jewelry Repair & Manufacturing
Servicing client jewelry as well as stone setting and some fabrication for showroom pieces.
•Repair via soldering and laser-welding
•Prong retipping; crown installation
•Diamond & gemstone setting and tightening (prong, bezel, channel, bead, etc)
•Polishing precious metals; rhodium plating
•Engraving
•Work must be consistent with our high standards of quality, service and timeliness
•Maintain the shop and your personal work area to ensure it is clean and organized
Client Service
•Clean and inspect client jewelry
•Evaluate jewelry for needed repairs
•Provide creative recommendations for repair, customization, restoration
Leadership and Teamwork
•Assist with cleaning workspace and maintaining tools
•Assist with other jewelry service jobs when needed
•Assist sales team in finding solutions to client needs
•Maintain a positive spirit of customer service and be a team player
•Creative problem solver
•Organized and systematic, with good attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
•A successful background in jewelry repair preferred (1-4 years minimum)
•Prior knowledge of jewelry, repair techniques (experience using a laser welder is helpful)
•Ability to work with materials such as torch and chemicals.
•Work in a fast-paced environment to meet the high demands associated with a busy retail store.
•Workload and time commitment increase during certain times of year such as the holiday season.
•Together with sales and office staff, participate as a member of a strong and positive team to accomplish goals
